Our Founder
Beginnings and Original Vision
Mike is the founder and owner of Mike’s Mountain Quality Fur, a specialized business dedicated to offering premium tanned fur pelts sourced from 11 different species of fur-bearing animals.
His journey began on October 26, 2020, with the launch of his original brand, Handmade on Mike’s Mountain, through an Etsy store. The shop featured a distinctive mix of handmade fur garments and outdoor-themed items, including deer antlers, vintage traps, tanned furs, and even handcrafted fur cat toys.
Strategic Evolution and Refined Focus
By 2024, Mike had refined his focus to exclusively selling tanned fur pelts, expanding his reach to four countries—the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
With this shift in direction, the business was rebranded as Mike’s Mountain Quality Fur, reflecting a stronger commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity. The inventory grew rapidly to include over 500 pelts.
